Part oneNo matter the sin

Sin is the transgression of the law of God (1 John 3:4). It is disobedience to God’s ordinance.

A sinner is someone who sins. Lying, murder, stealing, adultery/fornication, idolatry, oppressing others, jealousy, witchcraft, hatred, envy, and sexual perversion are some examples of sin (Jeremiah 7:2-9; Galatians 5:19).

The Word of God makes us understand that all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23), and the reward of sin is death (Romans 6:23). The Bible further explains that God does not want the death of sinners, but for sinners to turn away from their sinful ways (Ezekiel 33:11; Ezekiel 18:23).

  • DavidDavid, the son of Jesse, sinned against God by committing adultery with Uriah’s wife and killing Uriah (2 Samuel 11). But he repented of his sin and was forgiven (2 Samuel 12).
  • PaulPaul, formerly known as Saul, persecuted and imprisoned many disciples of Jesus, but he later repented and became a preacher of the Gospel (Acts 8:1; Acts 9).
  • ZacchaeusZacchaeus was a tax collector who gained wealth through deceit, but when he met Jesus, he repented from his evil ways (Luke 19:1-10).

Part twoThe way out of sin

God has given us a way out of sin through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ came to die for the sins of the world; He was buried and He resurrected from the grave on the third day and afterwards ascended to heaven, sitting at the right hand of God (Ephesians 1:23; John 3:16).

By the death and resurrection of Jesus, we have redemption from sin, and our righteousness is guaranteed (1 John 2:2; 1 John 1:7b; 2 Corinthians 5:21).

The problem is not that you have sinned but your refusal to repent.

“Let the wicked forsake his way and the unrighteous man his thoughts; and let him return unto the Lord.”Isaiah 55:7

For you to be free from the condemnation of sin, all you must do is confess your sins and forsake them (repentance).

No matter what your sin may be, God is willing to forgive you. Just repent.

Part threePrayer of salvation

Lord Jesus, I believe You came to this world, You died, You were buried and resurrected for the sins of mankind, including mine.

I accept You as my Lord and Saviour today.

I ask that You direct my life, in Jesus’ name.

Amen.
